Groundhog Day was first celebrated today in 1887 at Gobblers Knob in Punxsutawney, PA. According to the annual tradition, if the groundhog comes out of their hole and see’s its shadow? There will be six more weeks of winter. No shadow means an early Spring.
Guess what y’all? We will be having six more weeks of winter weather 😀
If the ground hog predicts six more weeks of winter, like he did today, it is just a silly superstition.
If the ground hog predicts early spring it is folk wisdom.
