Today in American History…Frances Cleveland was born on July 21, 1864 in Buffalo, New York. She was the wife of President Grover Cleveland and was the First Lady from 1886-1889 and again from 1893-1897. She became the First Lady at the young age of twenty-one and still remains the youngest First Lady in American History.
The Cleveland family enjoyed simple American food – nothing fancy for them! For desserts they enjoyed a plain frosted cake or their favorite cookie which was Snickerdoodles.
So in honor of Frances Cleveland’s Birthday, we made a batch of Snickerdoodles in our kitchen while using the delicious recipe for Snickerdoodles from Sally’s Baking Addiction.
